Ein defektes Radlager macht sich in der Regel durch ein ungewöhnliches Geräusch bemerkbar, das beim Geradeausfahren auftritt und beim Abbiegen leiser wird oder sich verändert. Wenn du dieses Symptom bei deinem Volvo bemerkst, kannst du fast sicher sein, dass es sich um ein defektes Radlager handelt. Eine weitere Möglichkeit, herauszufinden, ob das Radlager gewechselt werden muss, ist, das Auto anzuheben und zu prüfen, ob Spiel vorhanden ist. Greife das Rad oben und unten und prüfe, ob es sich vertikal seitlich bewegen lässt.

Volvo S60, S80, V70 und XC70 AWD haben hinten Radlager vom Typ Einheitlager, Hub Unit. Das bedeutet, dass das Radlager als komplette Einheit mit dichtungen geliefert wird. Hub Unit Radlager sind ab Werk gefettet und lassen sich sehr einfach selbst wechseln, da weder eine Presse noch zusätzliches Radlagerfett benötigt werden.
