A common sign that a caliper needs replacing is if the car pulls to one side when braking or wears out the brake pads more on one wheel.
If the piston in the caliper does not move as it should, it can reduce braking efficiency, causing your Volvo to pull to one side when braking. If the piston in the caliper gets stuck in the extended position instead of sliding back after braking, it causes extra wear on the brake pads and sometimes even results in warped brake discs.
It's a good idea to also replace the brake hose when changing the caliper. The correct brake hose for your Volvo 140, 240, 740, 940, 850, S70, V70, C70, C30, S40, S60, S80, V40, V60, V90, XC60, XC70, XC90 is available as an accessory for the caliper.
