The sway bar link is also known as a stabilizer rod or K-rod. Its purpose is to reduce your Volvo’s tendency to roll when cornering. If the rods are worn, you may hear a knocking sound when driving over small bumps such as railway crossings or minor potholes. The sway bar links are easy to replace as you don’t need to remove any other parts in the front axel mounting. However, it’s common for the nuts to be tight after years of exposure. A tip is to spray some 5-56 well before you start loosening the old rods. It’s also a good idea to apply a little oil to the nut when fitting the new sway bar links, making them easier to replace next time. Here you’ll find all Volvo sway bar links
