Als de zuiger in de remklauw niet goed beweegt, kan dit de remwerking verminderen, waardoor je Volvo scheef trekt bij het remmen. Als de zuiger in de remklauw vast blijft zitten in de uiterste actieve stand in plaats van terug te glijden na het remmen, veroorzaakt dit extra slijtage van de remblokken en soms ook kromme remschijven als gevolg.
