Je hoeft geen instellingen te maken voor accutype, grootte of omgevingstemperatuur om optimaal te laden. SMART 60 begint automatisch met laden zodra hij wordt aangesloten, zonder dat je op een knop hoeft te drukken.

Er is een ingebouwde zaklamp aan de voorkant van de lader (op de bovenkant van het deksel, boven het batterijsymbool). Deze gaat automatisch aan als de lader op het lichtnet wordt aangesloten. Hij gaat uit als er een accu wordt aangesloten.
Temperatuurbescherming: Temperatuur heeft invloed op het vermogen van een accu om opgeladen te worden. Deze lader heeft een ingebouwde sensor in de zwarte clip (en zwarte kabelschoen) die temperatuurschommelingen compenseert om optimaal op te laden in zowel koude als warme omgevingen. Dit voorkomt het veelvoorkomende probleem van onvoldoende opladen bij koud weer en overladen bij warm weer.
